Not just any S3 endpoint.

Custom domains

Add your R2 custom domain to the connection and BucketMate copies public URLs with it, not the rate-limited r2.dev URL.

Infrequent Access

See and change each file's class between Standard and Infrequent Access. IA bills at least 30 days.

Jurisdictions

EU and US jurisdiction buckets use their own endpoint, like <account-id>.eu.r2.cloudflarestorage.com.

InvalidRegionName

A region from another provider, like us-west-2, was reused.

Set the region to auto.

SignatureDoesNotMatch

Wrong secret, or a presigned URL used on a custom domain.

Re-copy the secret. Presigned URLs only work on the r2.cloudflarestorage.com endpoint.

AccessDenied

The API token has no access to this bucket.

Edit the token to include the bucket, or turn off Load all buckets.

NoSuchBucket

Wrong account ID in the endpoint, or a jurisdiction bucket on the default endpoint.

Use the endpoint shown on the bucket's settings page.

Cloudflare R2 S3 compatibility notes

No versioningR2 has no S3 versioning, so overwritten files can't be recovered.
No ACLs or tagsR2 rejects x-amz-acl and x-amz-tagging. Use custom domains for public access.
One write per second per keyFaster writes to the same key return 429.
